I have been spinning a fibre called Malachite from Sara's Texture Crafts. In shades of Greens and beige.
I started it on the old wheel and then swapped it over, so I was worried about how it would turn out. I am really pleased with it though.
I got approximately 560 yards of a sock/sport weight yarn. Which will hopefully be enough for a shawl.
This is what I'm spinning now....
A mixed fibre batt.
I am finding it quite difficult to spin. Its got a lot more texture so my yarn is coming out quite thick and thin. Its fun to try different things though.
Yesterday we went to visit Russell's brother and his girlfriend. They had their baby, Max, in January, he is so sweet. I gave him the Sailor Bunny that I knit for him in the Autumn.
When we got back I started some sewing (at last) well, I didn't actually get to the sewing part but I did get the pattern traced and the fabric cut out.
I'm making the Moss Skirt from Grainline Studio. In a dark red fabric that I got a couple of years ago from Birmingham Rag market.
Have a lovely week! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
